We are an EHR Software Vendor for Chiropractic. Following are our concerns about certification and the program in general. 1. Many of the rules for meaningful use do not apply to Chiropractic. 2. Chiropractic is a non-drug based completely natural treatment. Doctors of Chiropractic do not prescribe drugs, do not do Labs hence the drug-drug interaction, ePrescriptions and Lab results don't apply to them. As a result the Software for Chiropractic also does not have this functionality. 3. It will be necessary to create a subset of rules that apply only to Chiropractic, otherwise none of 50,000+ Chiropractors in the US will be able to take advantage of this program. Is that a possibility and how will the certification work for such more specialized software?
