Our agency received funds from an Oklahoma Type III Supporting Organization.
The proposed regulation change to restrict the number of secondary charities a
Type III Supporting Organization can support will have a negative impact on our
agency and many other nonprofit agencies in our area. Most nonprofits operate
on a "just getting by" budget, and are always looking for financial partners to
enable us to carry out our programs. To restrict the number of charities a
previously generous Type III organization could support to such a small number
seems punitive to nonprofit agencies. The Type III Supporting Organizations have
money they are willing to share, and nonprofit agencies depend on grants from
these organizations. Please allow the Type III Supporting Organizations to
disperse their funds to as many organizations as they can at whatever amount
they choose. Those we serve at our nonprofit agencies are the ones helped or
hurt by your decision re: this proposed regulation.
