This is out right Discrimination at its best. How can you right in an act and then EXEMPT others from having to charge this Tax? It would make more sense, that EVERYONE whom buys a tanning Unit for personal use, fitness centers that offer tanning and dermatologists offices that use UV Light for treating clients, ALL should be subject to this ridiclous tax to help the National Deficit! My pick on the Indoor Tanning Industry, by the way, we are not part of the Health Indusrty, and should not be subject to the Health Industry fees as stated in the act Title IX. Revenue Provisions, Health Industry Fees. Please look that one up and tell me where we git into this? Itis like taking and sticking into the Health Care reform a tax on tobacco/alcohol, foods, lawn care services, pet food, etc. Theses are not related to the Health Industry, there for they would not be placed into this Reform. So the Indoor Tanning should NOT be placed into this as well, since we are not even allowed to publicly advertise that with the proper use of UV Light in a controlled environment can clear acne, eczema, psoriasis and seasonal depression. and my clients cand submit this to their insurance to be reimbursed for their outside treatment. If we are part of this Health Industry, then all of the above should apply, right? Second, how can you EXEMPT the fitness center ( gyms ) from this Tan Tax? They are the ones that give the Industry a bad rap, because they do not monitor the tanners and educate them on the proper minutes and usages and allow their cleints to burn and repeat their sessions twice in one day, because they can restart the unit sby themselves. Also, at colleges they offer tanning beds to the students in an uncontrolled room again where the students can turn on the units themselves and use it repeatedly. there is an area that should be monitored. I am appalled at outr government for this tan Tax that has all these EXEMPTIONS attached to it.
