If possible, it would be good to study cost-effectiveness of development of container ports with cranes for loading barges with containerized freight to ship on the Mississippi River between Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota and New Orleans, Louisiana, and all points in between. Container Rail Ports in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area are already heavily congested and being able to ship some containers via barges on the Mississippi would relieve some of that congestion and create new jobs.
