Comment on E8-20561, our company has had a zero tolerance drug policy for years and it works very well. A zero tolerance drug free work place policy is to provide a safe and healthy work environment for all employees. The policy MSHA is submitting is way to easy going. Everyone has a choice, stay clean and work at a good paying job or work where there is no drug policies at a much lower pay scale. Some of the accidents in the industries are caused by second and third chances. I know it happens, but I cringe at the thought of drug and alcohol abusers driving 18 wheelers on our highways, or operating heavy equipment. So zero means zero.
