26 October, 1998
Dear Ma’am/Sir,
I am writing in response to the proposed change as documented below. I have also reviewed the proposed changes as well as the new examination form. I feel that the area pertaining to genital-urinary examination is not clear, ie pelvic examination if necessary. I also note that Doctors of Chiropractic are allowed to perform this evaluation. I do not believe that pelvic examinations are a routine part of their clinical practice nor that they should be allowed to perform that examination as part of their clinical practice. I also question the necessity of performing a rectal examination on every individual that presents for a commercial drivers license.
Thank You
David K. Gustavison, DO, MPH
