Since human anatomy does not vary throughout regions, we should have a national recommended protocol for prehospital emergency medical care. We should have standardized skills and protocols which would also allow reciprocity from state to state. Meanwhile, we need guidance as to what the standard of care will be when EMS units leave their home states to render aid in a disaster situation.
