I fully support the NPRM that will remove the sunset provision of FMVSS 208
regarding the lockability of seat belts for the purpose of securely anchoring child
restraints. Vehicle belts remain important for child restraint anchorage in many
situations where the LATCH anchors cannot be used. While the original provision
was well intended, the continued need for seat belt lockability is evident.
Thank you in advance for the removal of this provision.
