The proposal for seat belts on the school bus is a great idea. Seat belts should be a mandatory requirement on all school buses whether old or new. With the older model buses, I am concerned about the safety of the passengers not being strapped into the seats when an accident occurs. Each state and local should upgrade all buses for safety precaution, which would include adding seat belts to the buses. The higher seats should be equipped with lap and shoulder belts, which would be an extra safety precaution. In order to obey the law all vehicle should be equip with seat belts, whether public transportation or private.
