EPA rules regarding fuel mileage "grades" are not warranted. In fact they would only serve to represent another otherwise useless bit of information. To date, I have not personally found that any of the existing mileage estimates on new cars are accurate. In fact, I find them to be an insult to the taxpayer. The agency should serve the public. Not itself. And by making yet another grading system would serve only to increase the size the agency and not serve the public or taxpayer with any useful information. I am not in favor of any expansion of any government agency accept the armed forces. And i also beleive that the EPA and NHTSA have both become political arms to be used to further an agenda. I would like to see the agency reduced to advisory counsel only.
