Concerning large trucks: Well, I can't find the related informaiton or input concerning the recently enacted truck idling laws, but I would like to comment on it and some other related truking laws. Firstly, most all truckers are against the new idling laws as they treat drivers like animals, and as you may have read all over the world, they do not keep a driver comfortable. How can states expect drivers to sit all day in trucks when temperatures are in the 80's or above? Whomever enacted these laws needs to have their head examined. It seems they have no consideration for drivers as the inside of trucks gets hotter than it is outside. Also, would they like to sit in a truck for hours in 30 degree temperature? Why not make this the law for ALL vehiles then? Hours of service prevent a driver from resting when he/she needs it. Remember, once the 14 hour clock starts, it does not stop. Before we could stop and sleep of maybe 2 hours, but now we have to keep on going no matter tired or ill until that clock stops. How could anyone pass a law and not take this into consideration? Also, everyone in America is making more money except truckers. The nasty governmnet is dictating how much a driver can make these days. Next, why not implement a drug and driving test for ALL drivers in America, this means everyone including grandma. Make them take a physical every two years, a drug test, and a written test and vehile test every 5 years. What is the difference? Why not make car drivers adhere to driving less than 14 hours a day. Hmmmm, it seems non-truckers can drive 24 hours straight and talk on their cell phone all day but truckers can't. This wining mothers against truckers who promote anti trucking laws would not like it if truckers got fed-up and stopped delivering toilet paper would they? It is sickening to see how the government and public try to squash truckers from making a decent living.
