I would agree with the provisions that the Obama administration are implementing in order to reduce the greenhouse effect. One aspect of this provision that could be somewhat problematic is the cost for consumers. Any time new technology is implemented, it very rarely comes at a cheap price for consumers. Would the Obama or perhaps even the next administration continue to reward consumers for purchasing these types of vehicles, as they have in the past on tax refunds? There has to be some type of incentive for consumers before they will throw away their loyalties to other manufacturers.
Since the Obama administration is using the rulemaking policy to implement this change, it should be pretty straightforward yet flexible for the American people. Changes such as this sometimes are better when they are enacted slowly and not a vast change for consumers.
