I think it would be a great idea to design cars with older drivers safety and ease of use in mind. The last thing anyone wants to give up is their freedom to go places and have to depend on others for a ride.
My mother still drives at almost 82 and the hardest thing for her is getting in and out of the car also hooking the seat belt. Elderly people can hardly get out of the backseat of a car. I don't know why this is so difficult for my mother but improvements could be made for comfort and ease of getting in and out of the car.
Loading groceries in and out of the trunk should be easier, our little Honda Fit is not a problem but the Lexus has a lip so you have to lift over the the portion of the trunk. Also it you don't put your bags in something your groceries will roll forward making items hard to reach.
I hope these suggestions are helpful.
Please keep truckers to the right lanes like they do in some states plus in those sames states they cannot exceeded 55 mph. This should be a national law for all truck 18 wheeler, in NC we have so many 18 wheel accidents it's ridiculous..
