I don't think NHTSA has demonstrably proven that they're capable of discerning what a reasonable person would find objectionable or otherwise worthy of criticism. If they had a prior track record of judicious decisionmaking and an acknowledged aversion to clumsy, overbroad, overreaching, meddlesome, hairbrained and ill-conceived bungling, that would be one thing, but alas...
