I am always concerned when the federal government decides that an act that has been around for 20 years and has been used successfully to lessen the impact humans have on the environment is no longer viable in its current form. In particular, with last minute changes prior to a new administration. With that in mind, I am opposed to any changes to the ESA. Anything that is done at this stage of the game is more than likely politically motivated and based on lobbyists for whomever has been most impacted by this act. At this point in time, a new administration should be the one to affect change in the ESA not the one leaving. The public has spoken as to the past style of operation, in the dead of night and the cloak of silence. Leave the ESA alone.
