I am commenting regarding the proposal of NOAA_FRDOC_0001-0210. I have read the proposal and also done some research on the rockfish species that are in Puget Sound. Some of the pictures i have seen show that many of these fish are quite breath taking. I read on to find out that they are being overfished and that is why the population is so low. I was shocked when the article went on to say that their are so few remaining rockfish in Puget Sound that it is hard for anyone to be able to keep a track of the total population. As with any species it is unfortunate to hear that these fish are at the point where they could become extinct. I think that the proposal to put them on either the endangered or threatened species list must be put through. Especially because limiting the amount of rockfish that people are allowed to catch does not stop the population from dwindling. Many fisherman put smaller rockfish back in the water and release them but this still does not solve the overall problem. Rockfish have swim bladders and can't be brought to the surface. I hope this proposal is put forward so that many families will get the chance to be able to see these beautiful fish for years to come.
