Even though just one sighting might not mean anything, I have personally seen a seal on South Andros Island , three years ago. It was laying on the beach, between Deep Creek and Little Creek. I approached the seal to a distance of 20 feet. Stood to watch it for a minute or two, after which the seal moved into the water and slowly moved out into the depth of the flat. I would not know if that was one of one or one of many seals out there, but I can say that it was fortunte enough to see one for myself.
