On page 60860, second column NMFS correctly asserts that "As discussed in the Bahamas report, there is no likely association between the minke whale and spotted dolphin strandings and the operation of MFAS" However, on page 60861, third column under association of strandings and MFAS, the NMFS INCORRECTLY still lists these species (minke whale and spotted dolphin) as associated with MFAS. This is incorrect as NMFS previously states. The sentence reads, "Other species (Stenella coeruleoalba, Kogia breviceps and Balaenoptera acutorostrata) have stranded, but in much lower numbers and less consistently than beaked whales" This sentence should be removed from the NMFS' Final Rule.
