Giving away any quota is irresponsible, and does not support our goal of
sustainable fisheries. If any quota amount is unused by the United States, then
it's just a benefit to the overall health of the fish stocks. Many other ICCAT
countries routinely exceed limits or illegally harvest tunas, giving them our
quota is rewarding those who are directly causing the collapse of the fishery.
The recent quota by ICCAT is more than the fisheries science supports, giving
away unused United States quota only hastens the collapse of the fishery as a
whole. You are responsible for ensuring we have a viable fishery for the future,
not forcing American fisherman out of business. If you are capable of nothing
else, then at least PROTECT AMERICA'S SHARE OF THIS WORLDWIDE RESOURCE!
