I would like to start out by saying that I appreciate everyone's effort to consider our issues within the commercial fishery of the Broadbill Swordfish. Since the closure of long-lining in our area around 2000, the fishery has made a remarkable comeback here in the Florida Keys. As a charter fishing captain, I have seen an incredible interest in sportfishing for this specie which has brought a sizable boost to our local economy! In the past few years, we have seen a large increase in both numbers and size with the Broadbills. With that in mind, it is very important that we protect and manage our resource as a whole. Sharing or lending our national quoata could and probably would be devistating to the U.S. fishing fleet. Please consider financial support and backing to help our own! The fishery has become strong once again and can be healthy and profitable for our nation in many ways! Thank You Captain Chris Walter Get Bent Charters 305-942-7039
