Gentlemen, Please do not allow longlining for swordfish to take place in the Florida Straits . It was a mistake earlier, and would be an even larger mistake now. Currently the economic benefit of swordfishing is being maximized by having more charter boats and recreational boats get into the fishery. At the very least put off any legislation another 5-10 years so we can study and research this fishery and the cost/benefit of a commercial fishery vs recreational fishery.
