As these turtles have been endangered for almost 40 years, it seems that more steps should have been taken before now to support their protection. That being said, this is a huge step in the right direction and a much needed piece of legislation. We need to do more to protect our oceans, and educate people on the issues affecting marine wildlife. Drawing attention to the problem by designating this habitat is the first step.
