Dear NOAA, I would like to encourage you to list the Atlantic Sturgeon as endangered under the Endangered Species Act. The Atlantic Sturgeon is a valuable species that deserves this protection. It is very sad that while the commercial fishery collapsed in the United States more than a century ago, we have not done more to protect this once abundant fish and create conditions in which the species can thrive. Endangered status would offer a valuable a first step in a renewed commitment to ecological vigor for the Atlantic Sturgeon. Without such protection, I fear for the fate this beautiful and majestic fish. Thank you for the opportunity to comment on such an important decision.
