Commercial quotas on red grouper need to be lowered. All longlining needs to stop. It is unattended fishing, which is illegal. I cannot perform unattended fishing, why should the commercial industry be allowed? All fishing needs to be attended, so that by catch can be released unharmed quickly, and fish that are too short can be released in good order as well. How many birds and turtles die from longlining? Way too many. This is a complete joke. Comercial fisheries are destroying my resource. It belongs to all of us, so why are they allowed to fish in ways the public cannot, only to destroy what is ours. The destruction NOAA allows the commercial industry to wage is unacceptable. NOAA should be ashamed of themselves.
