As recreational fishers and divers we GREATLY oppose this rule. Regulations continue to increase in their restrictions for recreational, why?
We are tax-paying members of our community that enjoy fishing and spearfishing while diving. We enjoy the sport and also feed our families with it.
Furthermore, we spend our OWN MONEY and TIME and EFFORT to fish/spearfish while diving; in purchasing licenses, permits, gas, bait, hooks, all according to the "rules". We should reserve the right to retain more than what we are currently being offered when we do not receive any profit from fish we take in.
The fisheries and these "catch-shares" should be a separate "aggregate" if you will ENTIRELY from we the people. How much can one family or a boat of occasional passengers on smaller vessels really take home in a year? This is for sport, an enjoyment of life, recreational fishers/divers/spear-fishers do not do this to fulfill the industry that makes billions every year! GIVE US A BREAK!

Brady and Sabrina Harbin
