Greater Amberjack Management Measures

View Comment

Why not close the Greater Amberjack in conjuction with the Grouper closure? Every time we close one season but leave another open it puts a huge amount of pressure on the fishery that is left open. We should have every fishery open in the summer months to give the Charter industry a little breathing room. This closure also affects every fishing tournament on the Gulf Coast. Leave the siize and bag limit where it is. I fish in the gulf off the coast of Alabama and the Florida Panhandle and there is not a shortage of AJ's that I have seen. Again, open everything in the summer and This will attract more people to the coast and help the struggling economy more than you can imagine.
