Please support expanded critical protections for the Hawaiian monk seal, a species of seal that needs all the help it can get. I had a rare chance to see one of these on the beach of Kauai, in a tiny roped-off area designed to give it some space from tourists like myself and locals. It obviously needs a lot more than that if it is going to come back, let alone survive! It has suffered from hunting, poisoning, getting caught in fishing nets, overfished food sources and simple human disturbance on the beaches - practically every type of human ecological disturbance that there is. It needs expanded critical habitat, and it needs it now.
