Aloha, I am one of the lucky ones who has seen the wonderful, endangered monk seal. seeing one cheers my heart thinking that one of God's creatures that is so rare has crossed my path. It's clear that the people who don't want to expand the critical habitat for monk seals have narrow, ignorant and/or selfish motives for their views. Fisherfolk ignorantly believe that by expanding the protected zone for monk seals, that their fishing activities will be hurt. the opposite is true since monk seals are part of teh Pacific web of life. Their health reflects the health of fisheries, at least for the long term. It's time to act on behalf of futuristic environmental planning. Please expand the critical habitat for Hawai`i's endangered monk seals. Thanks you.
