I oppose all management measures proposed by NOAA & SAFMC until such time as the methods for data collection are improved. I am a recreational fisherman & diver off of the coast of GA. I fish more than most & see a healthier biomass than is described by NOAA & SAFMC. I have never been surveyed as to my catch, days at sea, or location. I have lived here 51 years. NOAA has simply created a "derby" style fishery with closed seasons & ACL's. This is the main reason we were given to implement Catch Shares. We were also directed by Fisheries management laws to target the larger fish. The same fish that are supposed to be missing from our biomass. It seems that we are being regulated off of the water & fisheries closed for no reason whatsoever. I vehemently oppose this amendment & believe all amendments should be suspended & an earnest effort made toward improving Data collection.
