I personally can observe a very healty population of Gag and Red snaper when diving the oil rigs in Louisiana. I ask that the council strive to obtain a better stock assesssment as the previous assessments are not even close when compared to my and others personal observations. The continued decrease in fishing opportunities is un warranted and is causing harm to public and private people and businesses. I ask that you strive to obtain more accurate information before enacting stricter regulations. Also, your interpretation of the amount landed by fisherman is greatly exaggerated. Case in point, we experienced over fishing in 2010 even though the gulf was closed for 6 months. You need to use real numbers instead of extrapulation the data from previous years due to lack of data.
