As the sportfishing industry’s trade association, the American Sportfishing Association (ASA) supports the recreational increase to 4 red grouper in the aggregate bag. We remain concerned that the Council, in proposing the rule, continues to neglect the issue of allocation and updating allocations between sectors. We continue to ask NOAA to provide pressure and guidance on addressing sector allocation as part of any fisheries rule making process.
