Please go back to *protecting* marine mammals, as the majority of people in this country expect. Stop allowing politics and hysteria to intrude into decisions, and go back to relying upon science. Seller sea lions do not belong off the ESA list. The fishing industry brought these animals to the brink of extinction, and the fact that they are beginning to return is not the same thing as a return to historical levels. Particularly in this time when the fishing industry is attempting to remove all natural predators from every marine ecosystem in order to eliminate the "competition," even as fishing itself causes the fishies to collapse. Your agency would do much better to stop all fishing and actually protect the fish, rather than "managing" other wildlife to death. Stop subsidizing the fishing industry: you work for ALL of us.
