I have been recreationally fishing in Virginia's saltwater for over 50 years. I have watched the numbers of commercial fishermen drop over the years; however, the percentage of their catch has not dropped proportionately. The recreational fishermen in my state support the economy of Virginia ten-fold that of the commercial fishermen; yet, their catch is still 20% greater than the recreational fishermen. This is not right, and I want to voice my concern regarding this. Their limits, poundage and size, and in my opinion, even their method of taking fish, should be no different than the recreational fishermen. Your agency is suppose to be looking out for the fish.
