My recommendations to the council regarding amendment 18A are as follows. While I have no issue with the raising of length from 11” to 12” I would hope that we as recreational anglers will not have to suffer through anymore closures of the black sea bass. I personally feel that this species is not being overfished there are plenty of these fish and red snapper off our coast even though the council continues to ignore this fact. If I remember correctly when the black sea bass issue came to the forefront even NOAA had said the species wasn’t being currently overfished. I am sure that while NOAA is being proactive they seem to never listen to the recreational angler and only listen to environmentalist that continue to tell them that the sky is falling.
