I am opposed to the current proposed quota on greater amberjack, the tac has not been met because nmfs will not give us a reasonable trip limit to meet the quota,The quota should be set at 1.2 million lbs. and the trip limit raise to 1500,when the quota is 80% met drop the trip limit to 500 lbs.Amberjack are not overfished and overfishing is not occurring. This is an underharvested species because we are not allowed a reasonable trip limit. With other closures more pressure will be put on amberjack 789,000 will be caught quicker.
