Triggerfish population problems are not largely the result of over fishing, but more likely from over populations of snapper, the opportunistic feeders which are in enormous quantity throughout Alabama and other Gulf waters which are devouring juvenille reef fish of all species. It is sad that a pragmatic view of this reality is foreign to the ardent environmentalist and bureaucratic views which are alledgedly based in science. Any conservation officer, recreational diver or fisherman fully understands this issue.
