Another classic example of NOAA putting the cart before the horse. Yes the triggerfish have been on a decline--no we are not catching more we are catching less. Guess why we are catching less.--There are less out there. Has any one of the overpaid NOAA employees bothered to try and find out why the Populations have been declining? I have heard everyone talking about "cutting triggerfish" the past several years but with NOAOA's huge budget they have done nothing to try and find the cause of the Triggerfish decline their only solution is to cut off fishing. The main problem is there are too many snapper out there feeding on all species of juvenile fish and their eggs. NOAA--put some money into science instead of just immediately cutting Quota. There are more snapper out there than there has been in 10 years and they are putting some extreme stress on the other species and the snapper are getting HUGE! They are the most aggressive fish out there and they are taking over. It used to be where you had to find some snapper--you could go to places that were grouper holes or triggerfish holes or vermillion holes. You catch red snapper on all those holes now. WAKE UP
