Since Golden Tilefish are not overfished or undergoing overfishing I agree that the total ACL should be increased. I also believe that the recreational ACL for Golden Tilefish should be increased from 3 percent to 20 percent of the total ACL. Additionally I feel that the recreational bag limit should be increased to 2 per person or 6 per vessel, whichever is less. Based on my experience, targeting Golden Tilefish recreationally requires a much higher monetary investment than targeting other species and therefore has a greater impact on the economy. Increasing the tilefish limit may also relieve some of the fishing pressure on the Snowy Grouper (considered overfished) in South Florida.
