I fully support the proposed rule that would make it illegal to possess shark fins or transfer shark fins without being attached to a shark. Sharks are being over harvested for their fins. We need to take further steps to reduce the harvesting of sharks. This will at least prevent shark fining where sharks are captured and the fins removed and the shark thrown overboard. This should be strictly illegal. Sharks are being over harvested at a tremendous rate. Sharks are important to our ocean ecosystems and need to be preserved. Those who are involved in the process of removing shark fins and tails without harvesting the remaining body of the shark should be strongly penalized. I support this rule and encourage you to move forward with it. It is the only way to save sharks from extinction.
