Magnuson-Stevens Act Provisions: Implementation of Shark Conservation Act of 2010

Comments on the Shark Conservation Act 2010 and on the NMFS Thresher-Mako financial impact report relating to the CA DGN fleet; The Ca DGN supports the ban on finning sharks and discarding the carcasses. We supported the bill but have issues with the final draft. Our concerns have been ignored throughout the process. Without adjustments to the law Calif. fishermen will have unnecessary financial losses and the law will cause discard of sustainably caught sharks. This will be a violation of the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act (MSA). Some of our concerns are detailed on the attached document. Tom Roff F/V Diane Susan Morro Bay CA
