COMMENT: The proposed rules still sanctions the harvesting of ridiculously small swordfish. The limits of 47 inches and 29 inches (CK) are still taking very young fish, mostly prior to their first breeding season.
Does this panel have no gumption to limit the commercial, (not to speak of the recreational,0 take to a sustainable age fish? Most research points to the fact that these fish do not breed until they are in the 110 to 125 pound range. Taking younger, smaller fish is simply irresponsible and pandering to the commercial fishing interests.
Sincerely,
