With respect to the Directed Fishery for Butterfish:
In order to re enter what has been an historically important market for Atlantic Butterfish, it is imperative that the Fishery be allowed to commence on 01 Jan 2013.
The export market for Butterfish to Japan demands high fat/low feed product. The resource is usually at its peak condition from late December through late February. Any delay in opening a directed fishery will hamper the market rebuilding efforts that will need to take place.
Please consider my comments and waive any deterent to opening the fishery on a timely basis.
Kind regards
