As to new gray triggerfish limits: We do need limits as we do not have as many as we used to have, by far. Why? The answer is when you place all these absurd limits on all the reef fish we catch them fishermen are forced to fish for triggers. Fishing is supposed to be fun. Not so much anymore. Everyone I fish with builds reefs here in our gulf waters. We have red snapper galore. The stock is abundant. All sizes. The ones we release are eaten by dolphin who have learned to follow boats for an easy meal. Then the sharks eat the fish right behind the gills. So lets do away with size limits, predators will then not kill as many and raise the catch limit to 4 or 5 snapper. Triggerfish will then come back. I don't want them anyway.
