There are only 250 to 350 adult harbor seals in Iliamna Lake, and threats from climate change, ocean acidification, and the Pebble Mine project qualify the animal to be listed as an endangered species. Activities related to the proposed Pebble project, 17 miles upstream from one of the seals' favorite haul-out spots, would pollute the water, destroy salmon-spawning habitat, and disturb the seals during vulnerable pupping and molting periods Please, include the harbor seals which inhabit Iliamna Lake in the endangered species list!
