Kavanaugh Comments

Mr. Kavanaugh recommends that NMFS implement the revised monkfish emergency action recommendation of the New England Fishery Management Council on April 25, 2013, including increasing the monkfish possession limits while on a groundfish day-at-sea to 600 lb and 1,250 lb tail weight per day-at-sea for monkfish Category C and D vessels, respectively. He suggests this would eliminate regulatory discards and mitigate severe economic impact of groundfish catch limits. See associated file.
