I think the elimination of the closer shoreward of the twenty fathom line is a good idea. I also believe the regional aspects of the gag season should be taken into consideration. The gag fishing in relation to distance from shore is quite different for us here in Naples or farther south , then it is up in the panhandle. Just as the gags start biting close to shore for us close to shore fisherman the season ends.
