I agree with the vermillion snapper recommendation. However I disagree with the amendment to eliminate the requirement for a vessel fishing for reef fish to have a venting tool. I certainly understand that a venting tool used improperly can result in fish mortality but as seasons shorten and limits decrease for certain reef species, a venting tool can be the only effective method that will allow a fish to survive after a catch and release. Let's focus more on educating fishermen on the proper use of venting tools rather than eliminating the device that when properly used WILL decrease reef fish mortality.
