I find the commercial and recreational mini-seasons to be a reasonable, if one believes the red snapper fishery to be over-fished and that over-fishing is still occurring. The most troubling aspect is the lack of information coming from the recreational sector. It is my understanding that results from the 2012 recreational mini-seasons have yet to be compiled or data is lacking. We are supposed to believe in NMFS overall assessment of Red Snapper, yet NMFS cannot provide accurate catch data on 6 days of fishing.
