Where is the science/common sense in this regulation. Spearfishing is the most selective method of harvest in our oceans. 0 % bycatch and no harm to undersize/protected species. A dead fish is a dead fish no matter how you take it. If the SAMFS say's we are allowed 2 gags, then why the prejudice. The argument of bigger breeder fish is unfounded and where is the data to support this. Yes, a 30+ pound gag is hard to catch on conventional tackle but have you tried to stalk and spear one. These large fish are smart and do not just role over for us to spear. Please leave personal agenda out of the decision making process and use CORRECT data to make these decisions. Thank You, Brandon Langel
