expansion annuu. lived here over 25 yrs sport fished for over 20 yrs. am opposed to the extension. the no take is absured. noaa is taking away from the local people one of the main subsistance grounds in amer. samoa. along with the local gov. 20 per cent reef protection going into effect the island will be shut down for fishing. i have never seen a noaa boat on this area. how much prep work has noaa done to declare this a no take area. scuba diver spear fishing has been illegal for yrs. i could understand the no take if amer. samoa had a rape and pillage fishery going on, but we dont. noaa hasnt taken into consideration that most of the population here is a subsistance living especially true in the less populated area. noaa needs to take another look at this expansion. haveing spent the first 48 yrs on teh west coast of usa. ive watched yours and other agency closing areas. noaa has enough area in amer. samoa at present this expansion will also raise the carbon count in amer. samoa because noaa will bring more people in and that means more trash and more exhaust emissins. be happy with what you have. . regards geo poysky lll
